Heavy downpours in downtown Moncton made it difficult for motorists to get around and also left some basements flooded.
The amount of precipitation varied depending on where in New Brunswick you were on Tuesday, according to Environment Canada Meteorologist Jill Maepea.
She told our newsroom, a volunteer network site in Irishtown, measured 55 millimetres that fell over a one to two hour period.
The Greater Moncton International Airport only registered 27 millimetres.
Because of the heavy downpour, many storm drains became clogged by leaves, causing localized flooding in areas including downtown Moncton.
Maepea adds, the only other place in New Brunswick that recorded large totals was in Bas-Caraquet on the Acadian Pennisula, where 62 millimetres of rain was registered.
