A big boost for three local youth groups in southeastern New Brunswick.
In celebration of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada, the Moncton Wildcats Hockey Club is providing $100,000 to three youth programs in Riverview, Dieppe-Memramcook and Moncton.
A news release from the Town of Riverview stated that Riverview P.R.O. (Positive Recreation Opportunities) Kids, Dieppe-Memramcook P.R.O. Kids, and MYRAP (Moncton Youth Recreation Assistance Program) are receiving the funding.
“Thanks to this level of support, children in our community can access programs they might not otherwise be able to afford,” said Ash Arrowsmith, Community Recreation Coordinator for Riverview P.R.O. Kids. “All children deserve the opportunity to build confidence, meet new friends, and explore their interests in a safe, welcoming environment.”
P.R.O. Kids assists children and youth up to age 18. Since 2001, more than 9,095 local kids have participated in programs of their choice, thanks to donors like the Moncton Wildcats.
Since 2011, the Moncton Wildcats and J.D. Irving have contributed over $930,000 to P.R.O. Kids programs across the region.
