Local Charities Find New Home

Local charities are getting more space, thanks to a deal they’ve worked out with the Moncton Curlers Association.

What Kids Need Moncton has been in operation for the past four years. She says they’ve been overwhelmed with donations since they launched.

Executive Director Amanda Pooley says the building on Lutz Street is being offered to them rent free until May, as long as they cover the cost of the utilities.

She says, “The top floor of the Moncton Curling Association is where Feed the Community is happening. The main floor is where the donations for the Humanity Project are going and the other part of the main floor is where I will be running Learning Buddies.”

She says their hope is to purchase the building, but that will depend on the amount of community support they receive from contractors who can help them fix the building up.

What Kids Need Moncton started collecting toys four years ago, and have expanded from there.
