MURRAY CORNER, N.B. – The provincial Liberals say they have a plan to strengthen the New Brunswick fishing industry.
If elected on September 22, party leader Brian Gallant says he would partner with the industry to expand markets… particularly in Europe and Asia, work with fishers and other provinces to develop a common lobster marketing strategy, and lobby Ottawa to reverse changes to Employment Insurance.
Gallant says the fishing industry a “critical” part of New Brunswick’s economy and he will work hard to create and maintain jobs in the sector.
He made the announcement over the noon hour at the Botsford Wharf in Murray Corner.
