A level one heat alert has been issued by the New Brunswick department of health as a result of this heat wave.
This heat alert is in effect for the towns of St. Stephen, Sussex and the counties of Westmorland, Kent and Northumberland and is in effect for Monday and Tuesday.
The heat alert and response system has three levels. A level one heat alert means certain vulnerable people might be affected.
Those whose health is most at risk from extreme heat are young kids and older adults, the homeless and socially isolated, those with chronic health conditions and those on certain medications.
Please be safe.
Stay hydrated & be cool.
Please keep an eye on your neighbours, especially elderly. https://t.co/C8ptHIkVNP— Bill Fraser (@billfrasermla) July 2, 2018
