Just days after a report on the prevalence of bullying and sexual harassment at work, the Trudeau Government has unveiled proposed new legislation on behaviour in federal and federally regulated workplaces.
The legislation, if passed, will include protection against retaliation for those workers who complain about harassment and violence as well as sanctions that can be imposed on employers who fail to act.
The Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, Patti Hajdu admits legislation alone will not be enough.
