The opioid crisis, medical cannabis, medication error, as well as patient safety are just a few of the issues that will be addressed at a national conference being held in Fredericton.
It’s the largest pharmacist conference in Canada.
Executive Director for the New Brunswick Pharmacist Association Paul Blanchard says hundreds attend from across the country, but there are also a few coming from Ireland, Portugal, and Australia…
“Part of the purpose of the conference is to talk about issues that are in front of us or ahead of us, that are of concern to the public or patient interest. These issues are top of mind for everyone and they are certainly important to pharmacists as well,” Blanchard says.
Blanchard says in Canada, we have an advanced scope of pharmacy practice, “Especially in Alberta, they have the most advanced scope of practice in Canada and around the world.”
The conference runs from June 2nd until June 5th..
