The superintendent of Codiac RCMP says whenever large gatherings occur, police will be on site to ensure everyone is safe.
In an update to Moncton City Council this week, Tom Critchlow acknowledged recent rallies in downtown Moncton.
Critchlow said police respect peaceful demonstrations as a right under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
A large march was held through the downtown last Sunday.
Critchlow said officers were there to try and educate everyone.
No arrests were made and no fines were handed out.
