Large Apartments Being Sought For Syrian Refugees

More than 200 refugees from Syria are now making their home in Southeast New Brunswick.

The Multicultural Association of the Greater Moncton Area – or MAGMA – has been having difficulties finding accommodations for some families.

MAGMA spokesperson Justin Ryan says they continue to seek landlords in the community.

“Landlords who are providing accommodations that can handle larger families who are still on a low level of income,” he notes.

Ryan says some Syrian families may have 7 or 8 members and it’s important to try and keep everyone together under one roof.
