A number of organizations held a rally this afternoon in front of Metro Moncton MP Robert Goguen’s office on King Street.
The event was put together by a number of labour groups to mark the first anniversary of the expiration of the health accord.
Canadian Labour Congress spokesperson Serge Landry says a small province like New Brunswick can’t absorb the costs of health care.
“The federal government is downloading all of the responsibilities to the province and a province like New Brunswick will be losing $750 million… that’s a lot of money.”
Landry adds the quality of health care is no longer the same across the country and those living in cities receive better care than those living in rural areas.
