Kredl’s Comes Up Short In Effort To Avoid Bankruptcy

The owner of Kredl’s, Dave Wolpin says there has been an outpouring of support ever since word circulated about the prospect of bankruptcy. That’s why Wolpin made his way to the Legislature in an attempt to meet with Premier Brian Gallant in the hope of getting some provincial help but came up empty.

Wolpin is expected to be in court tomorrow.

Suppliers who did business with Kredl’s are not happy because they could wind up out of pocket by not being paid what they’re owed.

Provincial Green Party leader David Coon says local food in the province needs to be strengthened.

Coon says it was just earlier this month when Real Food Connections went belly up and now Kredl’s is under threat with the prospective loss of 70 jobs.

The owner of Real Food Connections, Levi Lawrence declared the local food system in the province is broken.
