A Harrison Trimble High School teacher has denied having sexual contact with a former student.
The Crown and the defense have each wrapped up their cases in the trial for 43-year-old William MacGillivray, who is accused of sexual exploitation, child luring and obstruction.
MacGillivray told the court he never had sex with the alleged victim and he never sent flirtatious text messages to the girl.
The Crown argued that MacGillivray made the alleged victim feel important but was cautious by deleting text messages from her phone.
Defence lawyer Scott Fowler told the court that the alleged victim is a liar and MacGillivray’s reputation has been dragged through the mud.
The judge will instruct the 8-man, 4-woman jury this morning before they are expected to begin deliberations this afternoon.
