Join the Celebration: Youth Week 2026 Returns to Riverview

The Town of Riverview is celebrating Youth Week 2026 from May 1–7 with a full lineup of free, youth-focused events designed to showcase creativity, connection, and community spirit. Events will take place across Riverview and are open to the public.

“Youth Week brings a special kind of energy to Riverview,” says Paulette Tingley, Community Recreation Coordinator, Youth. “It’s a week where we turn the spotlight on youth creativity, talent, and ideas, and invite the whole community to be part of it.”

Week of Events

The celebration kicks off on Friday, May 1 at the Riverview Indoor Skatepark & Youth Centre with Turning Up the Future 2.0, featuring live performances from local youth bands Entropy, No Name, and The Koopalings, along with hip-hop sets by DaySick and Straight on Til Morning. A Youth Market will also run throughout the evening, highlighting young entrepreneurs and creators, alongside community organizations showcasing youth programs and opportunities.

On Sunday, May 3, the spotlight turns to one of the week’s signature events: the 3rd Annual Youth Brush Battle. This live art competition, hosted in collaboration with local artist and art battle champion Ji Hyang Ryu, will feature 16 young artists competing in timed rounds to create original artwork.

The audience plays a key role since spectators are invited to act as judges by voting between rounds to decide which artists move forward. Finished pieces will be auctioned before the end of the night, giving attendees the chance to take home original artwork.

The Town is encouraging residents to come out and be part of the energy of this unique event.
