It’s the end of October but it feels like the end of August in New Brunswick as a tropical air mass pushes temperatures well into the 20’s.
Environment Canada says several record highs were broken across the province over the weekend.
Meteorologist Jill Maepea expects more records will be set this week.
“We will have quite a bit of cloud cover, so it won’t be wall-to-wall sunshine and beautiful temperatures but the overall air mass is very warm. Any kind of sunny period we do get amongst these clouds will definitely bring our temperatures up.”
Daytime highs and overnight lows are at least 10 degrees above normal.
Maepea notes southern New Brunswick normally has daytime highs around 10°C and overnight lows near 0°C at this time of year.
She adds a change is coming by late week when a cold front will send temperatures downward to near normal values for late October.
