Investigation Into Burning Manhole In Riverview

More information is needed after an incident in Riverview early this morning involving manholes..

Codiac RCMP Inspector Ben Jolette says a caller reported hearing an explosion at Cleveland Avenue and Devere Road at around 1:30am this morning.

Riverview Fire Deputy Chief Robin True says they found flames coming from one manhole and three other covers nearby.

Gas readings were taken in the storm sewers, but they revealed no further risk to the area.

Jolette says a Jerry can was found nearby and they are currently looking for video that may help to provide more answers.
