Inmate Recaptured After Escaping Dalhousie Jail

Freedom was short-lived for an inmate who escaped from the Dalhousie Regional Correctional Centre.

The Department of Justice and Public Safety said the inmate left the jail at around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

In a news release on Wednesday, the department said the inmate was arrested by corrections staff and the RCMP nearby about 40 minutes later.

The incident is being investigated by the Department of Justice and Public Safety and the RCMP.
