Blackville RCMP are investigating an assault on an inmate at the Atlantic Institution in Renous last week.
On January 7 at around 5:00 p.m. an inmate was found to have been assaulted at the maximum security prison.
As a result, the inmate was taken to an outside hospital for treatment.
A press release stated that officers have identified the assailants and ‘appropriate actions have been taken.’
The Correctional Service of Canada also says it will investigate the incident.
