UPDATE: Three arrested after Moncton High threats

Three arrests after an incident that left staff and students at Moncton High School on edge.

Codiac RCMP Superintendent Benoit Jolette says they received reports on November 17 with threats of a potential school shooting.

“This started off with just chats online with pseudonyms and we were able to identify and locate the individuals and seize various firearms. Our general investigation section was deployed throughout the entire weekend to work on this which led to the arrest of two youths and a 19-year-old male,” Jolette says.

The Anglophone East School District notified parents and students on Sunday, informing them of the concerning social media posts.

Superintendent Randy MacLEAN reassured them there was no further risk to the safety of staff or students.

Students returned to class on Monday, with increased RCMP presence and support for those who needed it.
