Residents of Moncton are using Food Banks more than ever, according to the Executive Director of the Food Depot Alimentaire.
Chantal Senecal says they have seen a 25 percent increase in the number of users, especially families with children under 18.
“Probably 30 per cent of the clients are children, so basically the families that come in have children under the age of 18, which is a huge number for food bank clients. I think when you have a family things a little bit more difficult.”
Senecal says families shouldn’t have to choose between paying their mortgage or buying groceries.
