A traffic stop late last month near Lakeville netted the Public Safety Department a sizeable haul of illegal cigarettes. It happened January 16th and they seized 136,400 illegal smokes and then a 2016 Chevy Silverado. As a result an 80 year old Moncton man was arrested and will appear in court at a later date. The provincial government says it loses about $13 million per year in taxes from the sales of illegal tobacco.
