Hundreds Turn Out To Oppose Shediac Campground

It was standing room only at a Shediac Town Council meeting last night.

Hundreds packed council chambers to show their opposition for a proposed mega campground that could be built between Pointe du Chene Road and Parlee Beach Road.

Town councillors heard concerns over increased traffic, reduced wildlife, reduced property values, and noise, if the project goes ahead.

Prior to the meeting a protest march was also held.

The meeting lasted almost three hours, and Councillors expect to discuss the issue further as soon as next week at a regular council meeting.
