How Much Does Healthcare Cost Per Person?

Total health spending is forecast to reach just over $66 hundred per Canadian this year, almost $200 more per person than in 2016 according to a report released by the Canadian Institute for Health Information.

Average health spending per person is a bit higher in New Brunswick at just over $66 hundred. That’s lower than in Nova Scotia and Alberta but higher than Ontario, Quebec and B-C.

Internationally, Canada’s health spending per person in 2015 was similar to what was spent in France, Australia and Britain.

It’s now reported 16 Canadians a day are being hospitalized due to opioid poisoning which is a 19% increase over 2 years ago.
