Homeless Shelter Extensively Damaged By Fire

Members of the Moncton Fire Department responded to a fire at a homeless shelter.

Platoon chief Paul Bruens says 19 firefighters responded to the House of Nazareth of Clark street at around 2pm today.

NB Power and police were also on scene.

Bruens says the building will be closed for an extended period of time due to extensive smoke and fire damage.

Fortunately, Bruens says nobody was inside the building.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
