Hockey teams from right across the country are visiting Moncton over the next four days, as a part of a tournament that has been going on in Metro Moncton for the past 35 years.
It’s the Monctonian AAA Challenge.
Tournament Chair Blair Brooks says players range in age from 13 to 17 in the Bantam and Midget divisions. There are about 1200 players in Moncton, with their parents, coaches and other fans..
Brooks says there are also about 150 scouts from all over North America, looking for prospects down the road for the Q league and for schools in the United States.
The games are being played primarily at the Superior Propane Centre, at the Kay Arena and the Moncton Coliseum.
The tournament runs until Sunday.
