Over 320 young hockey players from across Atlantic Canada will take part in the annual Atlantic Challenge Cup being held in Moncton this weekend..
Spokesperson Mike Gillingham says the action all gets underway tonight at the Superior Propane Centre.
He says, “It’s a tournament we host every year and it is the players from the Atlantic provinces, so that’s PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador. Players represent their provinces in the male under-14 and U15 categories, and the the female U16 and U18 categories.”
Hockey Canada president Tom Renney and the General Manager for Hockey Canada’s female national team programs Melody Davidson will make presentations on the topic of minor hockey and developing young players for the next level on Saturday at 2:30 p.m at the Delta Beausejour.
