Highway at N.S.-N.B. border has reopened

The Trans-Canada Highway near the Nova Scotia-New Brunswick border has reopened.

Drivers were delayed when it was shut down during a protest over the federal carbon tax Monday.

On social media just before 11 a.m., RCMP said due to public safety concerns, traffic was being diverted in both eastbound and westbound lanes on Hwy 2 near the border.

Police reopened the highway by late afternoon.
