Hazmat Exercise Ongoing At Moncton Fire Station

Around 50 firefighters from Moncton, Saint John, Fredericton, Bathurst and Edmundston are taking part in a Hazmat exercise today.

They are at the St. George Fire Station along with officials from Transport Canada and the province of New Brunswick.

Moncton Fire Chief Conrad Landry says they are testing an app that will make it quicker and easier to find out what types of hazardous materials they may have to deal with when arriving on scene.

Transport Canada hopes to launch the new app within the next 12 months.
