Federal Conservative leader Stephen Harper saying the Liberals and NDP are promising money they can only get by raising taxes and running a large deficit.
He says those kinds of promises in an unstable world are “dangerous reckless promises”.
Harper says balancing the budget assures Canadians that the investments his government makes are ones they can afford to make sure taxes stay down.
He also claims the Trans Pacific trade agreement will generate 1.3 million net new jobs by 2020, arguing it’s in the best interests of the Canadian economy. The deal excludes China but encompasses 60 per cent of the world’s economy.
