Gun fired during Berry Mills home invasion: RCMP

RCMP are looking for a suspect after a gun was fired during a home invasion in Berry Mills.

Police rushed to the scene at a home on McFarlane Road shortly before 2 a.m. on Jan. 4.

“An individual forcibly gained entry to the residence by breaking the door window with a hammer,” police said in a Friday news release.

“While in the residence, the suspect discharged the firearm, however, no injuries were sustained to the homeowner.”

The suspect fled from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash before officers arrived.

He is described as being about 20 years old, six feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds, and spoke English.

The suspect was wearing all black clothing, a mask, gloves, and was armed with a long gun.
