Greater Moncton Residents Invited To Help Commemorate Fallen And Injured RCMP Officers

If you would like to help commemorate the Codiac RCMP officers killed and injured during the tragic incidents on June 4, 2014, you will get your first chance tonight.

Morgan MacDonald, who is the Artist for the permanent memorial that will be created in Riverfront Park, will be on hand from 4pm until 7pm tonight at Dieppe City Hall.

Residents will be able to press a fingerprint into a wax mould, shaped into a maple leaf. The dozen leaves will then be cast in bronze by the artist and will be installed at the base of the monument.

A second creative activity will also be held , to allow residents to express their respect, pride and gratitude.

Other sessions have been scheduled over the next week, in Riverview and Moncton.

Public sessions have been scheduled: Riverview Town Hall on Thursday, February 18 (4-7pm), St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 20 (10 am to noon; 77 Hildegard Dr.), and Moncton City Hall on Monday, February 22 (4-7pm).
