Greater Moncton Airport Sees Increase In Passenger And Cargo Numbers In 2017

2017 was a great year for the Greater Moncton Romeo Leblanc International Airport.

CEO and President Bernard LeBlanc says they had the largest number of passengers flow through their terminal building, “We had 665, 630 passengers and what is interesting with that is there was one year that we had 12 ,000 passengers more, but 30,000 to 40,000 weren’t flowing through the terminal building because they were charters out west.”

The Airport also generated the most cargo revenue, with $2.9 million dollars

“In terms of our profitability or bottom line, we were close to 1.5 million which is twice what we expected we would be, so very successful year financially,” LeBlanc says.

Parking is also a big revenue generator for the airport, “We actually overflowed some weeks, over 150 people that we couldn’t handle in our terminal area. We have to look at our Customer Service in that aspect to see if that is something we can do to improve that experience,” LeBlanc says.
