Grand Bay-Westfield Man A Finalist in Countrywide Beer Making Contest

There are eight finalists in the running to come up with a new beer flavour for a Scottish brewery and one of them is from New Brunswick.

There were over a thousand submissions for the nationwide Innis & Gunn contest.

Don Guimond of Grand Bay-Westfield will need your help to win and have his creation brewed at Innis & Gunn in Edinburgh. He says the secret to coming up with a good beer is find something you like, keep your ingredients simple and keep the beer nice and clean when you’re brewing it.

His creation is a dessert or after dinner beer that has coconut and rhubarb with a little bit of orange to give it a citrus flavour along with coffee and chocolate.

The winner of the contest gets to travel to the Innis & Gunn Brewery to brew their beer, which will have their name on it when it goes on sale in Canada next fall.

Voting is now open at innisandgunn.com/ca and runs until November 24.
