Moncton Fire and Liberty Gas were called to Lorne Street near Whitney Drive to investigate a gas line rupture on Tuesday.
Officials say steps were taken to ensure residents were safe in their homes while repairs were done.
Construction crews were working in the area at the time, and it is believed a line was cut while work was being done.
