Fundraiser For Victims of Dieppe Apartment Fire, A Huge Success

There was overwhelming support at a fundraiser over the weekend for the victims of a recent fire in Dieppe.

Many of the 46 residents left homeless, work for Bonte Foods/Chris Brothers, and the company decided to hold a fundraiser to collect items and funds to help them out.

President of Bonte Foods Michael Whittaker says they filled a 26 foot truck full of furniture and household items and clothes, and they also raised $3200 at the barbecue.

Executive Director for Blankets For Moncton Nadine Lipton says the next step is to divide the items and ensure everyone has what is needed. She says, “That is going to mean they need more volunteers for the organization.”

Any items that are leftover, will be stored, and will be distributed to others in need. Blankets for Moncton assists anyone in crisis, whether it be fire victims, or the homeless.
