Fuel price drops expected in N.B.

It appears fuel prices in New Brunswick are on their way down for the first time in a month.

An industry source says gasoline and diesel prices should fall on Thursday night.

The maximum price for regular self-serve is expected to drop by around 3.5 cents per litre.

Diesel users should see the maximum price come down by around four cents per litre.

Currently, New Brunswickers are paying a maximum of $1.61 per litre for regular self-serve, $2.07 per litre for diesel, and $1.78 per litre for home heating oil.

In Nova Scotia, regular self-serve ranges from $1.60 to $1.64 per litre while diesel is selling for between $1.98 and $2.02 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the price for regular self-serve is around $1.62 per litre, diesel costs around $2.04 per litre, and home heating oil is selling for around $1.48 per litre.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board adjusts prices every Friday at 12:01 a.m.
