Freezing Rain Expected For Wednesday Morning Commute

Mother Nature is playing games with the temperatures again.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for our region.

We’re expecting to see some snow begin tonight mixed with ice pellets.

And Meteorologist Roberta Perkins says that will switch over to freezing rain by around 6 tomorrow morning, “The issue will be the timing, being the morning commute. It will definitely be a factor when dealing with slippery roads. However, it looks like there will be a switchover to rain before mid-morning.”

If you are heading to other parts of the province, you may experience other types of weather. Perkins says, they aren’t expecting freezing rain the further south you go, “Towards Saint John, it will be a less freezing rain, more rain issue. But towards Fredericton and central Moncton, we will see similar conditions as in the Moncton region.”

Motorists are advised to plan to give themselves some extra time for the commute tomorrow.

By the afternoon, Perkins says, we could see temperatures of around 10 degrees for Moncton..
