Fredericton Police Provide Updates On Chase and Bryden

Fredericton police telling us an 18 year old man is facing a few charges after a break in and assault involving an elderly woman on Tuesday morning.

Police tell us that Curtis David Chase is accused of breaking into a home in Nashwaaksis just after 1am, assaulting an elderly woman, stealing money from her and then fleeing in her car.

Chase was arrrested by Miramichi police at around 8am the same morning. He made a court appearance this morning facing 5 charges including assault causing bodily harm.

Police also letting us know the man hurt in a possible assault remains in critical condition at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Peter Bryden was attending a music festival on the evening of Sept 13th in Fredericton and was found around 430 the next morning in another part of the city with serious injuries.

Staff Sgt. Matt Myers said last week that information is leading them to think it was an assault but he would not rule out an accidental fall or a vehicle collison.

Fredericton police are still encouraging the public to contact them at 506- 460-2300 if you know anything or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
