Fredericton police investigate homicide

A sudden death in Fredericton is being treated as a homicide by police.

Fredericton police were called to a downtown residence on Sunday afternoon.

“In light of new information, police are now investigating the death as a homicide,” police said in a social media post.

The victim has been identified by police as Sonia Vivian Timbre, 42, of Fredericton.

A man was also found inside the residence and taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

“Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and want to reassure the public there is no risk to community safety,” said police.

No arrests have been made as police continue their investigation.
