Fraudsters Using Tax Scam In Greater Moncton Again

Fraudsters claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency are once again calling people in the Greater Moncton area.

Codiac RCMP say they have been receiving complaints on a daily basis over the past couple of weeks.

Police say the callers have been aggressive in demanding money for overdue taxes.

The fraudsters often claim they will come to a victim’s home and arrest them if money is not paid immediately by credit card or Western Union.

If you receive these calls, you’re asked to contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and if you have been scammed you should contact police.
