One of the largest gatherings for French-speaking youth in the country has wrapped up in Metro Moncton.
Closing ceremonies for the Canadian Francophone Games were held in Dieppe yesterday.
Over five days, about 1200 participants competed in the three sectors of arts, leadership and sports.
“Hosting such an important event generates millions of dollars in economic benefits, helps to create jobs, and shows once again the benefits that come with the bilingualism and diversity of our province,” said Treasury Board President Roger Melanson who spoke on behalf of provincial tourism minister John Ames.
Awards were given to the winning teams and the games flag was presented to Victoria, BC which will host the next games in 2020.
