Four Tiger Cubs Born At Magnetic Hill Zoo

The Magnetic Hill Zoo has announced the birth of four Amur tiger cubs.

This is the second set of cubs for mother Anya and father Alik.

Zoo director Jill Marvin says the cubs were born on May 11th and mother Anya took great care of them.

“She had her first cub and zookeeper Tiffany (Bateman) saw the first cub early in the morning on Friday and by the end of the day we ended up with four cubs and they were nursing and doing so well,” she notes.

Marvin says zoo staff and a veterinary team are keeping a close eye on the cubs and mother since it’s not unusual for something to happen at this early stage.

She adds as soon as the mother is comfortable with the cubs they will be introduced to the public but that won’t be for at least a couple of months.
