Four New COVID-19 Cases; 23 Now Under Investigation

New Brunswick health officials announced four new cases of COVID-19 in the province on Tuesday.

Three of the cases are in the Moncton Zone 1 health region. Two people are in their 20s and one is in their 30s.

The fourth case involves a person in their 20s in the Fredericton health region, Zone 3.

Public Health says all four cases remain under investigation. There are now 23 cases that are still being investigated.

Dr. Jennifer Russell, the province’s chief medical officer of health, said while New Brunswick is seeing an increase in cases, other areas are facing lockdowns and record numbers of daily cases.

“If we are diligent about following Public Health measures, getting tested, wearing our masks, spending more time outdoors, limiting our attendance and hosting of gatherings, keeping our close contact numbers as low as possible, we can substantially reduce our risk of experiencing what is happening outside of the Atlantic bubble,” said Dr. Russell in a news release.

There are 32 active cases with no one in the hospital. No new recoveries were reported Tuesday.

Meantime, Public Health has identified potential public exposure to COVID-19 in Moncton.

Officials say anyone who visited the Fit-4-Less gym at 165 Main Street this month at the following times should self-monitor for symptoms over 14 days.

1. November 6th – 8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
2. November 7th – 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
3. November 9th – 8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
4. November 10th – 8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
5. November 12th – 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. – 11:45 p.m.
6. November 9 – 12th – 8:30 p.m. – 9:45 p.m.

Should any COVID-19 symptoms develop, they are directed to self-isolate and to call 811 to get tested or take the self-assessment online.
