Train Derailment At CN Hump Yard

Moncton fire were called to the CN Hump Yard yesterday afternoon after four cars derailed.

Platoon Chief Paul Bruens says three cars ended up on their side..

Three were carrying non-hazardous materials, while the other was full of propane.

Bruens says they assessed the car to see if there were any leaks, but found there was no risk to public safety.

Firefighters were on scene for around five hours.

CN Rail officials were also on scene.

Bruens says Moncton Fire may be asked to return to the scene later today for standby support, as the cars are uprighted.
