For Some, Tonight Will Be “The Coldest Night Of The Year”

Temperature wise, it may not be forecast to be the coldest night of the year, but for almost 16, 000 walkers and 3, 000 volunteers across the country, it will be, as they raise money for the hungry, hurting and homeless.

In Moncton, around 400 people will take to the streets to walk for 2, 5 or 10 kilometres.

Their walk will begin at Wedgewood Hall, at around 5 o’clock tonight.

So far, over $40, 000 has been raised for Youth Impact, the local organization this event will benefit.

Associate Director Cathy Manuel says they’ve helped a lot of youth since they opened, “It’s our 10 year anniverary in January, so we’ve had a lot of success stories of helping youth move away from the streets and onto a more successful path in life.”
