Food Depot Alimentaire jackpot reaches $915K

Another record-breaking week for Food Depot Alimentaire’s 50/50 Gold Rush draw.

The jackpot climbed to a record $915,820 by the time the draw was made Wednesday afternoon.

Mario Leger, who was the lucky winner, is taking home half of the jackpot — a total of $457,910.

It is the second time in as many weeks that the Gold Rush jackpot has hit a record amount.

Tammy Todd walked away with $450,745 during the Aug. 9 draw. The jackpot that week reached $901,490.

The Food Depot Alimentaire 50/50 draw started around 10 years ago and is a critical fundraiser for the organization.

It raises money for food banks, soup kitchens, crisis centres and school nutrition programs across New Brunswick.
