Fisherman discovered a body in the Chaleur Bay, near northern Petit-Rocher, on Saturday morning.
Corporal Jullie Rogers-Marsh with the RCMP says members of the Bathurst detachment responded to the report just before 8 a.m.
Cpl. Rogers-Marsh says the local fire department assisted with their boat to recover the body.
She says an autopsy will be performed to help confirm cause of death and identity of the individual.
