First Moncton Craft Beer Oktoberfest This Friday Fundraising For United Way

Moncton’s first Craft Beer Oktoberfest is taking place this Friday at the Crowne Plaza.

Moncton Beer League Founder Amber Richards says it will be set up like a trade show, with craft beer stations interspersed with local food stations prepared by Crowne Plaza executive chef Brad Strugnell.

She says craft beer has become increasingly popular over the last few years with breweries popping up all over Atlantic Canada.

Richards adds what these breweries do really is a craft.

“They do take their own recipes, their own ingredients and they come up with these different styles of beer because I think we’re always looking for new beers,” says Richards. “By them focusing on new crafts we’ll always have something new to wet our whistle.”

A portion of the proceeds will support the United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.

Ticket prices are $58 plus fees for regular admission, and $68 plus fees for the VIP experience.

The regular session from 7:30-10pm allows you unlimited beer samples in your custom take-home glass from Jym Line Glassware.

The VIP ticket gets you a special glass, along with an industry panel discussion and exclusive guided beer tasting in addition to the regular session.
