Firefighters training along the Petitcodiac River

You may see more firefighters than usual along the Petitcodiac River this week.

But not to worry — they are likely not responding to an active call along the river.

The Moncton Fire Department is conducting boat and water rescue training.

Officials said the training includes exercises along the riverbanks and in the water.

Crews will be completing a water rescue technician course and using the department’s new rescue boat.
