Fire Extensively Damages Churchill Street Home

One person has been left homeless after a fire in a two storey home on Churchill Street overnight.

A neighbour reported smoke coming from the home at around 1am this morning. When Moncton Fire arrived on scene, there were flames shooting from a front window..

Platoon Chief Paul Bruens says no one was hurt, “The homeowner was at work at the time, and he was the only one living at the house.”

Bruens says they managed to get the fire out quickly, but there is extensive damage.

There’s no word on a cause yet. Investigators are back on scene this morning.
