Fire Damages Unoccupied Residence On Anne Street

A newly renovated building has been significantly damaged by fire.

Moncton Fire was called to the two-storey, six-unit townhome on Anne Street just after midnight Wednesday morning.

Acting Platoon Chief Paul MacFadyen says the residence was unoccupied.

There were around 17 firefighters on the scene and MacFadyen says they were able to get the blaze extinguished quickly.

There’s no word on a cause yet.
